| Dedhed Society was founded by three boys from the small town of Castleton, Vermont, where we all met and became friends in high school and realized we all had the same tastes in music; metal, alternative and grunge. However, they didn't form until the beginning of their sophomore year in high school, where both bassist/vocalist CJ Harvey and guitarist Austin Herber learned to play. But the biggest problem was they were all in different states by this time. Both drummer/ vocalist Ryan Publicover and guitarist Austin Herber had moved away. Ryan moved to York, Maine and Austin moved to Washington, D.C., but they still managed to make music. They record seperately and mix each instrument and vocals together via internet to create music. Dedhed Society has many influences, most of which are Alt. Metal revolutionists and some of the most influencial artist of the 90's era, such as Tool, Rage Against The Machine, Korn, Deftones and Limp Bizkit. They are a product of the 90's foresay. Ryan Publicover- Drums/vocals- Ryan Publicover, by most, is considered to be the best drummer around the Fair Haven area and now the York area. He's a speedy, hard hitting drummer who lays down rhythmic beats and plays with the tempo with off beats. He's a Alt. Metal influenced drummer with a grunge/ alt. metal voice. His influences as a drummer are Deftones Abe Cunningham, Sevendust's Morgan Rose, Red Hot Chili Pepper's Chad Smith, Slipknot's Joey Jordison and Limp Bizkit's John Otto. Vocalwise, his influences are Stone Sour's Corey Taylor (not Slipknot), Alice In Chains's Layne Staley, Faith No More's Mike Patton, Sevendust's Lajon Witherspoon and Tool's Maynard James Keenan. Austin Herber-Guitar-Austin's guitar skills mainly incorporates rock chords and bluesy lead. He is influenced heavily by alternative metal guitarists of the ninties such as Limp Bizkit's Wes Borland, Rage Against The Machine's Tom Morello, and Tool's Adam Jones. Also he likes to use effects like delay, synth, and distortion.
