| Sneake1 a genuine artist who was born and bred in far north Queensland in a town called Townsville in Australia. Sneake1 is known from writing his lyrics and recording, about the struggles in life and about his personal experiences that almost anybody can relate to, such as looking for “Sunshine” and “looking for a change.” This how it all happened.
It started at the age of six(6), rhyming words with what his mother had said to him such as “go and get a fork”, then Sneake1 would try and place a rhyme or two with it. He grew up listening to hip-hop influences as he was inspired by artist rapping about their lives, these artists are known as N.W.A, Grandmaster Flash, 2Live Crew and more. Now because of the major influence impact these artist has put on him, he had decided put his rhyming ability into action.
Sneake1 started getting serious about writing and recording at seventeen(17) years of age. His first recordings were made when he was incarcerated, although where he had been imprisoned there was no recording studio, so he had to improvise with a CD/cassette player containing a built-in microphone. Sneake1 then looped an instrumental from a Death-Row band named “Dogg Pound” and began to rap. Then he turned his small space into a recording studio.
When Sneake1 was released from imprisonment all he had was his freedom and recorded demos, which was dispersed into the hip-hop underground. The response would encourage Sneake1 to intensify his writings and recordings.
In early 2004 Sneake1 lived i the western suburb of Sydney called Liverpool. One day he had walked into a music store in the Liverpool shopping centre named “Kool Sounds” where he heard MC’s freestyling over an instrumental. Sneake1 then took the opportunity to take the microphone into his hands and started freestyling, before he knew it he had a large crowd was forming within minutes, bouncing along to his lyrical talent. He then got the attention of triple J’s hottest 100 DVD, as he had taken the opportunity feature in the special features of their DVD and also in addition to being approached, he was offered to be apart of a Fox8 segment hosted by Australian Cricket Icon Brett Lee and in the studio with RnB artist and producer J-Wess. He then performed with various artists on Channel [V] hosted by Andrew G and James Matheson these artists as mentioned include artists such as DMC champion DJ Samurai, JJJ hip-hop host Maya Jupiter and Powder Finger, he has also appeared on stage with other interests like Australian Beat-box champion and artist Joel Turner.
He has also performed at various venues between Cairns and Sydney (along the east-coast of Australia). At this point Sneake1 was/is recognised as a genuine rap artist.
In 2006, Sneake1 assigned a Digital Distribution deal with Dark Chocolate Entertainment (DCE) a digital distribution company . Now in 2008, he has signed a production/promotion/management deal - “Gutter-made Entertainment.” Together the teams believe in Sneake1 as a person, an artist and a producer. And is willing to take his success to another level. |
