| Los Angeles, CA. February 1, 2007, Razor Sharp Music Productions releases new recording artist SD Lyric.
Gun shots ring out at a prestigious awards ceremony; well know entertainers using highly derogatory language
on stage; community icons Russell Simmons, Steve Harvey and Rev. Jessie Jackson, to name a few, all
speaking out against the negative impact some entertainers are having on our communities. Today’s Hip
Hop/Rap culture has become synonymous with drugs, violence and misogyny. For years community leaders
have been speaking out against glamorizing violence and drug use.
“Put your ear to the speaker, it’s all clean”. That’s the tag line of Razor Sharp Music Production, a new music
production company that’s taking a new and different stand on Hip Hop/Rap music. “It’s time for music to
change; entertainers need to take more responsibility for their influence on the younger generation”, says SD
Lyric, Razor Sharp’s newest recording artist. A product of Inglewood California, SD Lyric has witnessed first
hand the violence and criminal activity that some neighborhood residents feel is linked to the Hip Hop/Rap
culture. “There’s nothing wrong with telling it like it is, or speaking your mind, we just have to be mindful of who’s
listening, and the effect our messages will have” says Danny Draper, founder of Razor Sharp Music. “I think a
Rap artist can be edgy, street, clean and positive at the same time; I want to make music with a message that’s
real, that’s worth listening to, learning from, and having fun with, it’s time to put the fun back in Hop Hip”.
SD Lyric also added “most young people think they need to stick a 9mm hand gun in their belts and a blunt
between their lips to have a career in the music industry, I want to change that, I am willing to take my share of
the responsibility for what happens when people listen to my music.”
SD Lyric delivers a refreshing, different sound. Combining the edge of today’s Hip Hop and the smooth two step
sound of yesterday’s R&B, SD Lyric has managed to spin up some interesting ear candy for those of you who are
listening for something different in an overly saturated music industry. Staying true to their tag line, it’s all clean.
SD Lyric plans to start his West Coast promotional tour in mid February 2007, starting with local high schools
and colleges in the Los Angeles and Inglewood areas. Danny Draper further indicated, “This is more than
promotions; this is a campaign to bring Hip Hop/Rap back to its roots”.
SD Lyric will start his promotional tour in early March 2007. He is currently available for interviews, promotional,
charitable, and paid performances. |
