| Let me start off by introducing myself..Im Sam but around L.A. known as SamSteel (Music Producer/Beatmaker)..Grew up in Hollywood...Lived here all my life..So ive always been a native LA city kid...I’ve also always been into hip hop, but started out listening to underground shit back in ’93...such as Black Moon,Gang Starr,Diamond D,Pete Rock & CL Smooth,Fu-shnikins,Lords Of The Underground,Souls of Mischief and tha whole Hiero fam, Dilated,Loot Pack,Self Scientific,Living Legends..i can go on and on...I’m truly a huge fan of theirs and just real hip hop musik and just various music in general... And i gotta thank my dad for always being so supportive for what i do and also my big brother Deeluxx and tha rest of my family for getting me into it, its truly amazing..Later down the road, I was drawn into the graffiti art scene, sumthing i loved doing, which is still something I LOVE but i don’t have a passion for it. After high school is when i got into DJ’ing since my brother kinda took me under his wing and my boys Rend One,Flyski,Beze was spinnin’ with Flyski’s 1200’s setup at his spot...So i was like fuck it let me get into. I’ll admit i got pretty good/"OK" which took ALOT of practice, but i wasnt no QBERT or BABU in NO way!! But i knew i wanted to be behind the scene and creating shit.. So a few years later i got into beat making with FL (my boy Beze put me on game w/ FL) Haha..and at first i started just messing around with it and treating it as a hobby...Then as I get more and more in tuned with making music and and knowing how to layer shit it kinda hit me and this is what i wanted to do man. I have a ear for good ass musik and i know what sounds good, and being from the Westcoast ive always had a love for that Westcoast sound...Thats why i give my man Evidence,Madlib and DJ Khalil props also props to tha Wake Up show, for playing dope hip hop music, just to name a few, cuz they have that ear too for good ass music, and there beatmakin’ is just ridiculous..Even Dre is a producer you just can’t fuck with man...So that just shows you where my influences come from and my music doesn’t have a paticular style, make whatever i feel at the moment...Shout out to my bro/producing partner DJ Deluxx, my boys Flyski,Beze,Rend,Remer and tha whole DOD fam...Im serious bout this musik...I’ll see you at tha top!!
