Notorious Coo raises the bar Los Angeles, CA – Notorious Coo isn’t just here to step up to the stringent standards of great hip-hop. He’s here to raise those standards. “I really wish people could see life through my eyes, get inside of my head and just see what I really have to offer to the world,” Coo declares. “It’s going to be great!” After a year away from his musical ambitions thanks to a bogus attempted murder charge, Notorious Coo is set to give listeners a revealing peek into his world. The doorway into the life and mind of Notorious Coo is available to brave hip-hop listeners via a pair of upcoming simultaneous releases, “Trap Game” and “Me Against the Machine” on the indie label Grind Hard. “Trap Game’s” titular single and “Me Against the Machine’s” flagship track “Somethin’s Gotta Give” are the portals into Coo’s world. The track “Trap Game” explores is an undiluted investigation of the “corporate, white collar hustle” to which many popular rap artists are subjected in their quest for widespread recognition. It unflinchingly shoots down the stereotype that every accomplished hip-hop artist arises from a drug-hawking background. “Somethin’s Gotta Give” prods the high-tension pressure cooker heat that invariably precedes serious changes for the better in society. Each song – both representative of their respective albums – are reflections of the societal hurdles Notorious Coo has faced in his hard road to success. The rapper’s almost nomadic life has exposed him to many subcultures and a diverse array of human struggles, all fueling his musical message. His “ghetto poetry” is an outreach to the world, the fierce expression of a man who has learned much the hard way and is offering his life lessons to others through the uplifting medium of music. Coo has performed in such distinguished venues as Madison Square Gardens and has even received airplay on the Australian version of MTV. 2005 found him kicking off his own independent label, Mans Productions Inc., through which he released his debut effort, “In the Eyes of Coo,” distributed via Sony. It boasted a number of hot singles, including “Freak N Me” featuring Kat Williams and “That’s the Way It Goes,” a song that Coo performed live with Dwayne Higgins. That album was followed up with “The Product.” Coo’s music is marked by a piercing delivery style that demands attention from the listener. “I shoot the verses out like I’m in a race to the finish line,” Coo explains, “and if you’re not listening closely, you may miss something.” Both early-2008 singles are an advance glance at the hard-hitting albums due to hit the streets full force this spring. Coo is currently working with A&R Select, the world’s leading independent artist development firm, based out of Los Angeles, CA. Your support means a lot. Think you could take a second and vote for me? I think you're going to dig the new song; "Nobody Cares." It addresses the problems in hip hop and how it’s gotten so predictable with all the gun talk and drugs. A lot folks are feeling this one big time. Just click the banner below & vote. Thank You So Much! Merc
