BIO

Born Colitto Mostella to the proud parent of Dorothea T. Jenkins and George Mostella. He also goes by the name of Lido or Lidie Bz, which he was given by a classmate when he attended McClymonds High School in West Oakland. He grew up in the East Oakland neighborhood known as the Dirty 30’s. At age 6, Lido and his sister Felicity were placed in foster homes in 1987, while his father was serving time in prison for numerous bank robberies. His mother regained custody in 1994, and his father was released from prison after serving an 11 year sentence. In 1995, Lido was kicked out of his mother’s house and went to live with his grandmother Barbara J. Lawson. When Lido was in school Barbara would find crumbled up paper all over the floor of his room which she thought was poetry. At that time Lido attended Valley View Middle School in Pleasant Hill, Ca, which was a predominately white school. His friends would beat on the lockers while he would freestyle over the rattling sounds of the locks. When Lido graduated from high school in 2000 his career in music started to take direction when he met his manager Don aka Preschool, but didn’t last long when he took off with the advance money. Around the same time Lido’s sister introduced him to a producer name Steve King, and began making history. In Sept of 04, Lido went to Las Vegas for a convention called “Demo Fast Break”, where he signed an A&R Deal with Capitol. One month later tragedy hit when his little brother Romell “Georgie” Mostella was shot and killed at the tender age of 20. Lido took Georgies death hard and blamed himself for not protecting him and steered away from his music. In the spring of 2007 things turned for the good, Lido entered a contest for MTV’s “My Super Sweet 16”, to get a chance to perform in front of nationwide cameras. Lido battled 16 contestants and came in second place. In the summer of 07 Lido entered a contest called “Spit Sumthin”, on thebaymusic.com where he won first place and became good friends with DJ Fresh and recorded a track with Mistah Fab and local artist J-Stalin and Beeda Weeda.
