| I know now that I pledge myself to Rock wholly and completely. I have Rock in my blood and I've been obsessed with it ever since I was little. But, I also have this soulful edge that's always dying to escape, like a wild animal that's been caged too long. Where it comes from, I honestly don't know. Maybe from my background of love and appreciation for so many genres, or maybe it's something more internal - a passion and romanticism for music in general. I've lived and breathed music for my entire life - waking up and singing Janis Joplin in the morning, "Strawberry Fields Forever" while I'm at my desk working, blasting Metallica while I'm driving home from work, falling asleep to the melodic tunes of The Red Hot Chili Peppers at night. I know the road ahead is going to be difficult, but nothing great ever came easily. Learning and growing from the struggle is what makes this worth every drop of my sweat, blood, and tears. This is what I want more than anything - to delve into the beauty of humanity and all it encompasses in my lyrics and melodies - philosophy, failure, success, grief, sympathy, pain, love... These elements of life and emotion all come together in the artform of music. For me, to create and experience this is to truly live. It's a way for humanity to connect and understand one another. And if I can contribute even a fraction to that, the privilege will be mine.
