| Kevin Saunders was born in Belize City, Belize on March 29, 1985. Seeking the opportunity to live a better life Kevin Saunders and his family soon moved to the United States and eventually called Yonkers, NY home. Kevin’s earliest musical influences were of the old school soul, funk, pop and soft rock genres as his parents were not fans of hip hop, especially the gangsta rap era. However, the streets and schools of Yonkers exposed Kevin to the art of hip hop and he grew to love it. Kevin graduated from Lincoln High School fourth in his class and enrolled in the accounting program at Pace University from which he would eventually obtain both his BBA and MBA. During his tenure at Pace Kevin began to find his creativity. He became president of the student government and in his year of service, he learned that he had a talent in expressing himself eloquently and creatively. Kevin decided to share some of his spoken word pieces at numerous events at Pace, tackling such subjects, as sexism, racism, hate, hustling, love, etc.; he did so under the stage name of kAySAuN. kAySAuN then decided to perform his spoken word pieces over instrumentals and so began his career as an artist. Determined to be a self-sufficient artist, kAySAuN began to dabble in the production aspect of making music. He has increased the demand for his music by developing a unique sound that has intrigued many artists across the U.S. kAySAuN is motivated by his desire to make a positive impact on his surrounding environment and you can hear it in the content of his music. One of his long-term goals is to reform the education system in the U.S., specifically inner city high schools. The world need only sit back and watch as kAySAuN is sure to make an impact in any endeavor he embarks upon. |
