BIO

Born in 1986, Joseph Grady lives in the bleak and weary backwoods of Montana. With the ever-present desperate mum of an Americana small town, he took to music early on, pursuing many musical genres. In 2007 Grady settled in with the underground country/bluegrass/folk scene and took to learning banjo, mandolin, and fiddle. He has had the honor of opening for national acts including Joe Buck, J.B. Bevery and the Wayward Drifters, and Sean Reefer and the Resin Valley Boys. In addtion, Grady has backed renowned names including Rachel Brooke, Slackeye Slim, and Graham Lindsey.

Currently, Grady is in the works of his debut album "Songs for the Birds" slated to be out summer of '09. When not recording solo material, he can be found recording and performing with Hangman's Hill with bandmates Dan Austin and Eric Frankland, performing as an official Dead Oreslinger with Slackeye Slim and sitting in on the newly formed Spook! Mountain Family with bandmates Joe Frankland of Slackeye Slim and Graham Lindsey of Graham Lindsey.

thanks. and yes. i dont think html works in blog comments, so i'm posting here. i love this site and listen to a lot of stuff here, so i've come across a lot... although there are definitely more than this. you can go to the community tab and search by genre. anyway, i'm really bad at trying to explain sounds and genres and all that, but these are urSESSION artists that are kind of in your range or things you might like.. and most of these i consider myself a fan of.

the grassholes - http://ursession.com/grassholes
i guess bluegrass/country/folkish. friends of a friend (jesse, the happy dog, who also has a couple of country sounding tracks)

cheryle correa - http://ursession.com/cherylecorrea
country, really nice voice.. kind of has a patsy kline style about some of her tracks.

ashlynn carolina - http://ursession.com/ashlynncarolina
a cool cancer (zodiac). i find i'm often drawn to cancer music. love his stuff. has a bit of a country sound to it.

gilmour - http://ursession.com/gilmour
a country influence to it. i dont think anyone else has taken notice of him, but i really like gilmour.

lowstring - http://ursession.com/lowstring
kind of like an acoustic/alternative/rock with a country sound to it. this guy is really good, but not quite for me. i'm not really that big of a country fan, some stuff is okay. i do like "why did you do it?"

jubilant sir - http://ursession.com/jubilantsirmusic
acoustic, uses a banjo sometimes. i like a bunch of his stuff. "into the sea" and "burn down" are my favorites. if you know of the band low and then you listen, you'll be able to hear the influence.. just kind of like that slow sleepy hum they have.

steven demetrious - http://ursession.com/stevendemetrious
country/rock, this guy is featured on the front page as a staff pick. the style is not really for me.. at all.. but it's worth recommending.

jet black 45 - http://ursession.com/Jetblack45
- country/rock, definitely not for me, but it's noteable.

tim - http://ursession.com/tim
beautiful acoustic. love his originals, tons of great covers. i think this guy is completely awesome. i visit his page a LOT and just leave it on loop while i create art. he just recently started uploading music and he seems to be putting up a few new tracks every week.

armchair rockstar - http://ursession.com/armchairrockstar
the sweetest, most humble, wonderful, super-cool guy.. and a really GREAT artist.

si senorita - http://ursession.com/ss
blues/reggae stuff, great vocals. great music. i prefer the reggae more than blues. very close friends, grew up with these guys.

brian medlin - http://ursession.com/brianmedlin
i love brian. i think he's a multi-talented musical genius. has been in everything from hardcore to accoustic. does his solo stuff and has a band called ghost away (i LOVE them) and he's currently touring with person L (he's the drummer... the singer kenny is from the starting line). i consider him a friend too, but i haven't actually talked to him in person. my sister knew him from school. we'll eventually meet up.

don smith - http://ursession.com/donsmith
acoustic, a school teacher..he has a band with his students ;D i think it's so cool he signed up here.

the ground clouds - http://ursession.com/thegroundclouds
acoustic.. they only have one track up. so i cant really guage their full sound. but i like their track.

l.d. - http://ursession.com/lovetrain
then we've got some hip hop with a bit of a country sound.. kind of like the nappy roots.
