| Icabod formed in the summer of 2005 from former members of two Philadelphia based bands, Downshift and Spellbound. The two bands played a number of shows together and quickly became musically as well as personally close friends. As the two bands saw their ends, the new project began to take shape. Ted Lambert (guitar) and Jake Nye (bass, vocals), formally of Downshift, combined with Garth Darville (vocals) and Dave Gianini (Drums), formally of Spellbound, began writing material immediately shaping a distinct sound harnessing powerful vocal harmonies, crushing guitar and bass, and dominating percussion.
Soon after, Icabod began playing the Philly scene turning heads every place the played not only with their sound but with their strong stage presence and captivating live performance.
Icabod has been compared to such acts as Tool, Snot, Alice in Chains, White Zombie, and Clutch to name a few. With abounding creativity and a passion to play music, Icabod is a sure favorite who is not going anywhere but up. |
