Hate the Kiss is an infectious, melodic, emotionally charged, riff driven band. The results of the collaboration of Ben Summerlove, Richard Ontiveros, and various other musicians, is their first album titled “loud as love”. This album has all the ingredients of great works of art. It is like a breath of life forceful, wanted, and needed. “We have amazingly high hopes for this album, as it is one of the best we have heard. We’ve hired a well connected P/R firm to handle all the Public Relations and expect great reviews. Every song has the potential to be the next big thing.” stated the StoneCrush records management.

The record will be available April 21st for purchase through Hate the Kiss and the StoneCrush records official web sites, along with national distribution online and in retail record stores. It will also be available for digital download on iTunes, Rhapsody, and Napster.

The album opens with a voice grunting and groaning, either in agony or desire. These feelings of lust, love, anger, and unknowing carry their burden throughout the entire album.

“The haunting reality of Nirvana, the dreamy landscape of incubus, the passion of thrice, and the mojo of zeppelin would be the only way to describe this blend of music. Scratch that, this is a sensation of music. It truly lights up all senses and never let’s go. From the opening track lipstick, with its nasty, sexy, angry appeal to anti-teen with its rhythmic anthem feel, this album will move you. Superb vocals, meaningful lyrics, rhythmic guitars, and insane drums make this album an instant hit. I could not take this out of rotation on my ipod. The sixth song fly away has an almost Jimi Hendrix feel, if he played for incubus. This is the first album in as far back as I can remember that I can listen to from front to back and back again. Go buy Hate the Kiss’ album “loud as love” and watch them live before they become too big and stadium seating is all you get.”

-Bruce Rock, Rock Rage Magazine-

The opening track, lipstick, has a very sexy dirtiness to it. It expels anger and lust in the same breath. When lipstick was first played for the pre listening party held by the label the only words the group could muster were, “INTENSE.”

Anti-teen is the second song on the album. It comes out swinging with thunderous drums and heavy riff laden guitars. The lyrics and vocals bleed the feelings of desperation. It calls to everyone with ears to sit up and listen to its message. We are the youth, don’t deny us, we will be heard!

Halo has a very polished and melodic feel to it. The bridge has a very heavy, mosh friendly crunch. The live crowds might tear the building down when this comes out!

Emergency is the fourth song to grace the album. This song is everything music should be. It has amazing lyrics, melody, heaviness, and most of all; it makes you want to move! With its infectious tones, it forces you to sing along, stomp your feet, or break something!

Strong enough could possibly be one of the most passionate, painful songs in existence. The lyrics literally paint a picture that your mind can’t help but read. Passion and truth drip from every line, every note, and every phrase in this song.

An instant Hawaiian, California, surf connection is felt from the sixth song, fly away. It brings images of lying on the beach, by a fire, listening to music, and hanging with friends after a long session of sick swells.

Lost at sea is the closest to danceable as this band can get. Along with its moveablility, the lyrics are very impressive. “I feed myself to the shark’s everyday; it’s so simple for you to cut me just to draw them in.” The lyrics are so complex, you can’t help but think; damn someone went through something!

Solar attraction is the eighth song on the album. Uplifting, passionate, and powerful, this song is a quasi love song/end of the world/capture the moment, journey. It flows amazingly well and easily has hit written all over it.

Trust, the ninth song, flat out is burley. A very forceful, bounce and thrash happy song. A neck or two might break when this is played, so be cautious!

The sky is falling really has the sing with me appeal. Calling to the world, come sing along. It is not quite soft, but not quite hard. It really sits in that perfect middle of songwriting perfection.

The last song on the album is Gun’s Kill. It is an acoustic, melodic, haunting song. The song is about not fitting in, not belonging, anywhere, yet trying to make it through the loneliness on your own. How can one song have so much?

The album is set on a path to destroy all expectations of a non-major label recording. This has the possibility to be that next bridge in the evolution of music. It has the potential to connect indie music released without major label backing and the success of major label artists. Take the opportunity to be a part of this time when it again becomes about the music and musicianship and not about how well you shake your ass or spread make-up on your face. Buy this album and finally raise your fist so high and say open up our sky. Let us in. We want the truth in music back!
