| HAMMERED
A heavy metal band that started out in early 2007, infleunced by the hard driven beats and power riffs of bands the like of Pantera, Metallica, Children of bodom and Megadeth. Zakk teamed up with Ru in 2005 while they were in former band "Unspoken". They started Hammered as a fresh, hard hitting, no nonsense fuelled band with clear visions of where to go and what they want. Domination! Adding onto the Hammered family is the new drummer Mike. A dedicated, hard working friend and band mate. With the addition of the Bass player Van, the band is locked, loaded and ready to come at you harder than ever before!!!!!!!
Zakk-Vox and Lead Guitar
A self taught musician and guitar player he started out in 2000 playing acoustic guitar and later moving on to
electric guitar, playing riffs and solo's of guitar virtuosos the likes of Jimi Hendrix, Yngwie Malmsteen and Zakk Wylde.
Being One of the key members of Unspoken, he later left for a more musical and technical approach to the metal genre,
forming no nonsense, hard hitting heavy metal band HAMMERED.
Currently studying music and classical guitar he took on the role of Front man and Lead Guitarist for the band.
Mike-Drums
Getting interested in playing guitar through a friend (Now current band mate Zakk) Mike started out in 2001 with guitar lessons
and after 4 years joined Heavy Metal Band Unspoken.
Leaving for Australia in 2005 he filled in for a couple of gigs playing bass for Rock Band Skewer.
Soon after that he joined the band Choas Incarnate also filling in on bass but starting a new project called
Nuff Nuff, playing a more acoustic and instrumentally orientated style of music,
in which he played drums.
After coming back to South Africa he joined Hammered in November 2007, playing drums.
Ru-Rhythm guitar
Starting out with a 40 year old crappy fender, amped through a hi-fi system in 2002.
He never thought that he'd go through with it.
But with practise and hard work,
started shredding and stacking up on gear.
After a few months he joined a couple of bands, trying out the band scene. In the summer of 2005
he joined good friends and former band mates in a Heavy Metal Band Called Unspoken.
Unspoken led to a friendship forming between Zakk (Vox and Lead Guitar) and Ru (Guitars),
and after a year they stared new project Hammered with his brother Van (Bass), and former band (Unspoken) mate Mike. (Drums)
Van-Bass
Starting out on guitar he later came to realise his love for bass and started playing in Rock Band, Silent Siren.
After a couple of months he left and became full time bass player for Hammered.
He's been playing bass for 3 years now, inspired by Heavy Metal Gods, Cliff Burton, John Myung etc. |
