Standing 5'9" and one hundred eighty-five pounds, Godamus Rhyme is not what you'd call a heavy weight... At least until you until you see his resume. A self-proclaimed renaissance man, the Maryland native plays the roles of rapper, producer, singer, and engineer and does each with the same unwavering focus and intensity. Raised in a home where traditional values warred with always being told to think for himself, this son of a lawyer and a preacher managed to grow up with a decent head on his shoulders.
"All I wanna do is make music for me. If other people feel it, thats a bonus," he says. Spending his high school and college days in training consisting of cyphers, voice and instrument lessons, and classes in audio engineering, this graduate of the world famous Full Sail school of recording arts delivers on all fronts. From beats to rhymes to soulful harmonies, it seems like Godamus has it all.
But can he perform? Yes. As a member of the nation wide Gully Bears family and one of the masterminds behind the Flordia-based powerhouse Caveman Theory, Goddy (as his friends call him) is no stranger to the stage. Having held it down with underground luminaries such as Boot Camp Clik (Duck Down), Cage (Def Jux), Mars Ill (Goatee), Jean Grae (Warner Bros.)Supastition (Soulspazm), Maya Azacena, Breez Evahflowin (Stronghold), Poison Pen (Stronghold), iCON the Mic King (Uprising), PackFM (Qn5), the Weathermen (Def Jux), DeepSpace5 (Goatee), Splash (Amp Truth), CunninLynguists (Qn5), Sol-illaquists of Sound (Epitaph), and Immortal Technique (Baby Grande), his track record is proven.
