'elements of style' © 2005 words are images painted by the writer the paper a canvas, blank and inviting the pen is her brush a cheap plastic Bic will do nicely a generic ball-point, blue not too fancy sophistication is not her style her ways are casual her touch methodic there is comfort in this art and why she speaks few words -- she is often asked "how is it you can write in such a way, you do not speak this much in spoken-word" i know no judgement more critical than my own only i alone utter criticism to my thoughts everyone else's take, i receive, and carefully store filed in the maze of my endless thoughts i know comfort in my silence(s) my companions -- pen and paper they have remained ever faithful my rock in stormy seas have caught my tears of sorrow have received patiently my anger they have shared my greatest joys and uphold all of my dreams -- that are, and have yet to appear in form and so in these still moments that i share with only mySelf i am complete in my element.

MUSICAL INFLUENCES

my dream to mix excerpts from (in particular) Malcolm X speeches, realized "it can be done" when i heard Immortal Technique... since then, i hold ambitions to stretch mass consciousness, and inspire people to 'think for themselves'. there are so many artists, poets, writers, musicians that inspire me on a daily basis, were i to name them all would take more than the 5000 characters this thing has confined me to. so in short - THANK YOU to each and every soul that has crossed paths, lyrically, soundly, verbally, and written.
