| Biography
Dexter Mayfield was born in Los Angeles, California. He received his early education in Louisiana. He returned to California to continue his education at Los Angeles City, El Camino College and Antelope Valley College where he was active in the choir and also taking classes in music. He also received extensive vocal training while attending these various colleges.
At an early age. Dexter accepted Christ as his personal Savior, under the leadership of Bishop Charles E. Blake. As an active member of the West Angeles Church Of God In Christ, Dexter participated faithfully in the choir under the direction of the infamous Kirk Carr, Dairy! Coley, Judy McAlister, Logan Reynolds and many others that has helped him with vocal skills.
In the year of our Lord 2000, his father accepted Christ and Dexter felt moved by the spirit to fellowship with him at the Robbing Memorial Church Of God In Christ, until the passing of his father in 2001. Dexter continued his membership there until he was once again moved by the spirit to go back home to West Angeles C.O.GI.C. After moving to Palmdale, he relocated his membership to Home Temple of Deliverance C.O.GI.C., where he sang in the choir under the leadership of Pastor Doris. Pastor Doris acknowledging the anointed gift that Dexter possesses, appointed him to head the praise and worship in devotional services.
Dexter was faithful until his struggle with cancer tried to defeat him, but he continued to give God all the praise and glory. For the years 2004 anc 2005 he kept battling with his illness, however he never gave up on God. Since that time, the cancer has gone into remission and the Lord is still finding favor with Dexter.
Dexter, now currently resides in Los Angeles once again, where he is a faithful member of the Thompson Memorial Full Gospel Church under the leadership of the anointed woman of God, in the person of Pastor Parker. At Thompson Memorial, Dexter is an active choir member, a part of the praise team and in training.
Believing that God is the head of his life, Dexter acknowledges the goodness of God and is not afraid to let the world know that God didn't have to keep him, but he is glad that He did.
