| I´ve been in the game 4 a while now. I started at the age of 9 in LA. I´m orignally from Pittsburgh Pa. I took the craft serious after leaving the army in "95". I signed a recording contact in "97-99", in Hamburg Germany with Studio 33. I´ve been performing live since "95" in Germany, Poland, & Czech. I´ve opened 4 Pharcyde, Roots, Keith Sweat, Budda Monk & etc and headlined also.
I went back home(States) in "99-2004" and attended Southern Ohio College for (Audio Video Production). While back home rocked a few colleges, clubs, festivals, poetry slams, and etc. wherever cats can perform at.
I roll with a team called Noo-Age overseas in Germany. We all have different styles but I´m the "Darkstar". My style is me, the way its suppose 2 be, real sound. LOST SMOKE means (Looking Over Societies Times) (Society Moves On Knowing Essence). Which means from anywhere Physical- Mental- Spiritual, is where the music can come from. I don´t fit in a box of any type. I evolved from thinking about what I wanted 2 write, 2 seeing the words, 2 hearing & seeing the picture the music paints. I didn´t come into the game from hustling or any other walk of life. I´ve always made music 2 push music itself. I always tell cats with me, don´t expect this or that ,just enjoy the music!!
When I started it was about lyrics & creativity. Now its about the beat & sounding like other cats. Thats not Hiphop 2 me. I turn my back on that type of movement & refuse 2 play that game. Theres nothing wrong with making pop songs 2 gain recognition but the whole album doesn´t have 2 be pop. I live overseas because its easier 2 tour Europe than the States, plus the peaps luv real hiphop, lyrical hiphop. The bad thing is no major label overseas knows how 2 market real artists. Alot of them want U to imitate this sound or that sound, and that breaks the biggest rule in hiphop( No Biting). 2 me thats what made Hiphop great everybody being different. I don´t listen 2 the radio and I don´t listen 2 music without a theme behind it. I make music 4 the youth & everyone who luvs real music. Its all about expansion not constriction.
Anything that comes from this direction is official!! I´m just about pumping out music the way its suppose 2 be & showing & providing that music real heads like 2 listen 2. Peace enjoy the music... |
