| Guitarist/songwriter from the Chicago area. I've written all types of songs, but have sort of followed the punk rock vibe for a little while now. I also write some instrumentals, and recently created a video for an ambient piece I created, entitled "Chernobyl", and inspired by a visit to a website created by the incomparable and daring Elena Filatova about the Chernobyl disaster.
I would say that my sound is original, though definitely three-chord punk. I'm heavily influenced by bands such as Nirvana, Smashing Pumpkins, The Ramones, and the MC5, though I have a soft spot for a lot of progressive rock and metal bands such as Rush (the reason I picked up a guitar in the first place), Dream Theater, Coheed and Cambria, and SOAD (though I know they hate the prog label). I'm also a huge fan of The Beatles, as well as blues/rock bands and artists ranging from B.B. King and Little Chris (if you haven't heard of him, you will!!!!!) to The Black Crowes. I've actually maintained a two and a half year boycott of commercial radio, listening only to my MP3's and listening to local bands around my area in order to try to think of something new and fresh that doesn't quite sound like what's on the air.
I currently write and produce mainly in my spare time, due to the inevitable intrusion of reality, though I am still very serious about it. I'm also looking for other artists who are looking for someone to collaborate with on their work.
