BIO
I started bass only a few years ago. I think about five. Yeah five is right. I started in eighth grade after I started the upright in our school orchestra and my buddy calls me up. His band needed a bassist and he had an extra bass at home. I gladly excepted. So a year or two later, I got lessons with who I consider the greatest bass teacher in the Pittsburgh area. Right now though, I'm not taking lessons because of his schedule. Right now, I'm really into chords and playing guitar songs on my bass. For instance, I wrote my own Tears In Heaven with chords and the melody. I've gotten good reactions from friends and the musical side of my family. Also, I've written my own versions of Nothing Else Matters and even Simple Man. I have two basses. A Schecter Omen-4 which has been my main bass for my entire bass career. I also have a Michael-Kelly fretless, acoustic bass which I don't play much. It looks nice and that's about as far as it goes. I've been looking to get rid of it, but nobody will even think of buying or trading. I also have an Alvarez acoustic guitar which is the guitar I started on many moons ago. A Fender banjo is also in my collection. I'm not good at it but it's an awesome sound. There is a bass I've been trying to get enough money for for the past couple of months. Because I like to work with chords, I thought a higher string would be a good idea, so I want to get a Fender American Jazz 5-string, string it EADGC and I'll put one of those hipshot tuners with the switch on it on the E-string so I can get down to a D. I need more income!
