BIO

YT also known as Young Threat was born October 11, 1988 in Inglewood, California. His parents knew that this vibrant child - named Anthony Clarke – was going to be a huge star one day. As an adolescent, Anthony had a gift when it came to the pen and pad. He started to get recognition not only for his skills as an artist, but everyone knew this boy was different. YT is raw and from the streets of Southern California. He faced his share of obstacles and challenges in life coming up from Inglewood to the Inland Empire. He was moved from school to school and eventually found himself on the streets getting paid and only wearing the hottest gear. He eventually felt something missing. He longed to find a school where he could remain for the whole school year and play on the basketball team like a normal kid. He wanted to show everyone that he had other talents besides the gift of flow. YT is a very intelligent young man who never got the chance to graduate with his high school class due to the trials and tribulations that come with growing up in the hood. He is in the works of completing his GED certification. Many of his hardships dealt with the loss of long time friends getting killed to violence on the streets. He would soon find himself feeling all alone. He realized he would have to make it by himself. For many years, everybody told him he needed to be in the studio recording. So that is what he decided to do. He started recording mix tapes with friends. After dropping verses and hooks like loose change, he eventually started writing verses for others when they came to stumbling blocks. In February 2007, YT was introduced to Mark Carter also known as Mellow Mac, a producer of Kram Pro Studios. Mellow Mac was impressed at the first meeting by his versatile flow and lyrical skills. They started collaborating on songs and Mac was even more impressed by his work ethic and drive. Mark Carter signed YT to an artist development deal with Kram Pro Music Group where he went through an extensive artist development program. Kram put the polishing touches on a star that is waiting for his chance to shine. At the young age of eighteen, the hip hop game is in for a big surprise.
