My name is Jason Verbelli and I'm professionally known as VERBZ.
I'm a solo, recording / performing artist that writes my own lyrics and lyrics for others to perform. I specialize in Hip Hop, Pop and R&B, but am not limited to those three genres.
I sing, rap, and have composed music for the piano and guitar.
I also studio engineer the Pro Tools sessions and recordings; in addition, I am responsible for creation of the web and clothing design as it appears on my profile at Myspace.com/VerbzMusic.
I’ve handled all the legal aspects as well. I have compiled work for hire agreements with every artist I've worked with (including Nelly, The Game, Ya Boy, Mac Dre, etc.)
I am unsigned and am not currently affiliated with anyone, nor have I been with any label or company. I have no manager at this time either.
I am sitting on a total of about 50 songs and have yet to release a first album; yet,
I'm well known in the Bay Area, L.A. and have a buzz in New York and throughout the United Kingdom.
I have also appeared on DJ Dee Brown’s Radio Show for the Lubbock, TX area.
(104.9 The Beat) I am no rookie in the industry! I’ve come a long way and am committed to musical perfection. I consider myself versatile and I’ve worked with many artists.
Some examples of acts I have opened for are E-40, Keak da Sneak, Too $hort, Flava Flav. I am cameo’d in San Quinn’s video ‘The SF City Anthem’ to appear on MTV.
I have performed at a variety of venues, some of which include The Roxy on Sunset in Hollywood, CA, The Bill Graham Civic Auditorium, various clubs in Washington state, Oregon, and in the city of Baltimore as well as all around the Bay Area.
VERBZ is the 3rd generation of VERBZ'. Mario Verbelli, born in Italy, served in WWII and was named VERBZ by his peers. Paul Verbelli, born in Massachusetts, served in Vietnam and was also given the alias VERBZ. I was born in San Francisco 1982 and was dubbed VERBZ by my peers since a young age. It was a play on my real name and it just worked well because I’m a man of action and always have been.
With no entitlement mentality, my philosophy is very different than any other person in the Hip Hop Culture. Even though I may work with people who grew up in rough areas, I know how to discern my lifestyle from theirs. I can still roll around in a lot of places other folks aren’t privy to. I know where I come from and I don't let myself forget it.
