| I figured for the sake of getting to know me on a more personal level, it'll be a good idea to write up my own bio so you can have a better idea of who you are listening to.... I go by the name of "Thousand". Reppin' 305 Miami, Florida but before I rep my city I definitely rep that raw gutter boom bap golden era sound of hiphop..what made me who I am today. A lot of people got things confused..I know what you expect to hear from rappers down here and all I can say is that I have nothing to do with that. I respect it, and thats as far as it goes. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------I've been a part of hiphop before I even knew what hiphop was. I was 10 years old listening to Eazy-E and NWA and fascinated by graffiti art before i could understand what "getting up" was all about. Graffiti was definitely my gateway to hiphop culture. After going through tons of names or "tags", in 1997 i came up with the name "KomnRok", a name that some of you may know me by.---- At age 16, I was introduced to the ciphers. So technically, i started rapping in '99 but i'd say I only been taking this serious for a good 3 or 4 years. I've gained a pretty decent reputation in the battle scene in Miami winning in such battles as: -EliteCafe Battles (1st place 2007) -Tagteam Freestyle Challenge (Runners up Orion & Thousand (2007) -Lyrical Boxing (runner up 2006) -Bridging the Gap (1st place 2005) -Titanic MC battles (1st place 2004) -HipHope MC Battle (runner up 2004) - MDC Open Mic Tuesday (1st place 2004) Some of you might have seen me serving clowns on the mic. If you were there whenever i did that, thanks for cheering. I dont know when i will hang my boots up and retire from battling. I just know, right now i love the challenge and I will be there to wreck as many mics possible.----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------I have an album coming out soon called "Kill For Crumbs" which basically speaks for itself... You gotta do whatever it is you gotta do to eat. This doesn't necessarily mean i kill people for food, it's simply a figure of speech and a way to describe how I'm living. I am the epidimy of a starving artist. I like to think of it as the first stage of my rap career... Maybe by my 10th album I might be able to call it somethin like "We Eatin Caviar". But for right now, we kill for crumbs muh fuckaa! I have some amazing producers supplying me beats. (1914, NameBrand, Steven "Qbeats" Kubie, EvolveOne and The Brass King.) This project wouldn't have been possible without them. The album is just about done except for a few touch ups. Im hoping to release it by early summer, that all depends on the financial status though. My broke ass..--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I have many musical influences from all different genres. Way too many to jot down here... As far as inspiration??? Life. Anything and everything that is around me. When i picked up a mic, i didn't have any intention. I just knew that it felt right so I didn't question it. I just picked it up and ran with it not even giving a shit that my style was sloppy at first. Hiphop came to me at a very confusing time in my life. I didn't know who the fuck I was , I still dont. But, through hiphop I have molded myself into the person I am today. For those of you who think this is just music..it's not. Each song I make is a piece of my life that I am giving you. I want everyone to know that I pour my heart out on these songs and work hard on what I do to give you a beautiful masterpiece to vibe to and to help you get through similar times that I was or am going through.
