BAND MEMBERS
JOANPi: Keyboards, Classic & Electroacoustic Guitar, Vocals. She is an emerging Artist/Songwriter.
JOANPi was born in Athens, Greece. Pretty soon with her mother's art influence in the house it was matter of time to involve with, specially music.
At the age of 9 & during whole childhood JOANPi self-taught, learnt to play keyboards (actually listened & played at the same time).
Summer of 1997 just after school she started writing her own lyrics, music, songs.
In 1999 - 2003 also started playing the guitar, drums, took/graduated the Music and Technology course in Athens, Remixing.
2004: she went to London to "study" about the biggest European music scene & to continue studies at university for BA Music and Media Management but soon realized that need to focus solely on songwriting so to pursue her career.
She came back to Greece & established as a solo artist called JOANPi (2005).
Later she was chosen to participate at a new Music Festival called Commusication in Gothenburg, Sweden for summer 2006 (though in the end the festival was cancelled for financial reasons). (www.commusication.org)
Late of 2006/2007 JOANPi entered to few international songwriting competitions with her song 'A Day at the Beach' (written in 2004) & received the achievement of professional recognition:
First Award: JOANPi song was monthly winner & mentioned to be one of overall high ratings by Judges in Dance/Electronic category in the International Songwriting Contest SONG OF THE YEAR.

Second Award: Honorable Mention Winner Instrumental (Any Style) Category in the 11th Annual Unisong International Song Contest. (www.unisong.com)
Third Award: Semi-Finalist position (Instrumental Category) in UK Songwriting Contest 2007. That year were just under 5,000 entries, approximately 23% made the semi-final. (www.songwritingcontest.co.uk)
Late of the same year JOANPi self-released her first EP (digital) 'this is JOANPi - EP' on Broadjam, later 'this is JOANPi - EP (Edited Version)' was released with TuneCore as the distribution company on major digital stores.
Winner song 'A Day the Beach' was included in EP, created some buzz:
#1 on 5th November since 10th September entry on 1019 in continuous rise up on IAC Charts Electronic Genre, while after was on top 25 for over 12 weeks.
On December JOANPi released a new album 'Midnight - Single' (digital) also via Tunecore. The title track 'Midnight' won the award of Electronic Track of the Day (22 Nov 2007) & was featured on GarageBand's Electronic main page.
2008: On ursession Electronic top rated acts.
On February her song 'A Day at the Beach' to be featured in elements of DIRECTV's channel 'The 101'.
On top 100 on myspace (Electronica genre) , Purevolume (Electronic, Pop genre) charts, as well on Ourstage incuding #1 outside of United States spotlight for
Club/Dance genre (June 2008).
On August JOANPi released 'Jimmy - Single' (composed for her nephew) to be available for free download.
'Jimmy' was successive on Reverbnation Electronic Chart as reached #2 on local (Greece) Chart and #161 on International one (September 2008).
2009: JOANPi participated to (the first) Reverbnation Sponsored Songs Program with
Microsoft Windows as the sponsor successfully, getting placed #1 at Hot Greek Act and #74 Hot Electronic/Dance Chart on 10th August.
