| Eyes of Day is a project that eludes most classifications and conventions of categorization. The most adequate description, if one is needed, was once coined as "Progressive Thrash," being that the band includes various styles and yields to numerous artists and musicians from many paths to assemble a new sound within the deep roots of thrash metal; the members being intentionally indecisive to the kowtow of so many genre-defined acts.
CJ Schaffer, bassist for EoD, is from Silverspring, MD, living much of his childhood in Beltsville near DC. Both Schaffer and former EoD drummer, Kyle Rea, would encounter frontman, Lee Ajang in a call center in Frostburg, MD, the town where the project ensued. Kyle Rea, who is no longer a member of Eyes of Day, spent 7 months in EoD. The rhythmic partner, Schaffer, has been along side Ajang for over 1 year; June 22nd being their first official show together. Although the project has changed various times, Ajang and Schaffer are avid music fanatics, insisting that the true EoD will soon be available for showcasing. Furthermore, they are also involved with a newly developing Death Metal Project called Torture Therapy, with demon-speak, brutal vocalist Michael Yee, originally from Santa Barbara, CA.
The primary writer for Eyes of Day, Lee Ajang, advises that the entire growth of the band will parallel the epic journey brought forth in the music. Every album will focus on one specific character, the protagonist and, perhaps, Byronic hero, and track his progression through various events. The first album, currently referred to as "[sic] Nation" will be recorded this summer in Nightmare Studios.
