| Death Pilot. To the world, a band. To the members that belong to her, a way of life. This way of life may be most understood by frontman/founder Adam Ryan. Just like every other musician one could meet in Los Angeles, Adam's story starts the same way: Moved from a small town to Los Angeles to try and have success in the entertainment industry. In the winter of 2005, Adam and friend Xander Christ, did just that. Shortly after their arrival, Xander passed away from cancer. Death Pilot's beginnings stem from that event. When someone that you care about dies you can either let their memory crash and burn, or you can keep their memories with you allowing them to fly high above everything else. It makes those memories the driving force behind everything you do, and the inspiration to turn tragedy into triumph. In the spring of 2006, Adam was introduced to Dirty Icon Productions. Dirty Icon is an LA based production team comprised of Logan Mader (ex- Machine Head/Soulfly guitarist) and Lucas Banker (Junkie XL). Tomo Milicevic (30 Seconds to Mars guitarist) co-produced the project aswell. The four hit it off, started working on songs, and began developing a truly new and original sound for heavy music today. Searching the bowels of myspace and through word of mouth, Death Pilot began its search for members. Eventually, Paul Perry, Marshall "Machine" McQuown, and Steve O'Connor joined the band. With an army of talent, a totally new take on heavy music, and a full length debut album on the way that is destined to be a classic, it won't be too long before Death Pilot is flying high through everyone's airwaves. Enjoy the flight! |
